Kolby
Founder
Kolby Hartman, President of Healing Rock Recovery, is living proof that no matter how far you’ve fallen, no matter how broken you feel, there is always a way back. For 13 years, addiction stole everything from me; my dignity, my relationships, my sense of purpose. Addiction whispered the same lie over and over: this is all you’ll ever be. I know what it’s like to stare at the ceiling, convinced the story is over. But I also know now the truth: rock bottom wasn’t the end, it was the beginning.
When I had nothing left, God found me. Recovery wasn’t instant, and it wasn’t easy. It was a fight, day by day, against shame and old habits. But God gave me strength when I had none, grace when I didn’t deserve it, and hope when I thought hope was gone.
“Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”
Through this journey, I found more than sobriety; I found purpose. For the last five years, I’ve dedicated my life to helping others break free from addiction. I know the lies addiction tells, the shame, the fear of trying again. But because I’ve walked through that darkness, I know the way out. I’ve seen people who thought they were beyond saving rise up and reclaim their lives.
At Healing Rock Recovery in Billings, Montana, we don’t just treat addiction. We fight for people’s lives. We believe no one is too lost to be found and no one is too broken to be made whole. I’ve seen families restored, hope reborn, and lives transformed.
If you feel lost, please hear me. You are not your mistakes. Your story isn’t over.
Michael
Co-founder
He never battled addiction himself—but he grew up in the wreckage it left behind. He watched his father wage a brutal war with addiction: fleeting victories swallowed by crushing defeats, broken promises, and the slow unraveling of a man he once admired. But the hardest part wasn’t the chaos or the fear—it was the helplessness. The gut-wrenching reality of standing by and watching someone you love self-destruct, knowing there’s nothing you can do to stop it.
Addiction doesn’t just consume the addict—it tears through families, leaving wounds that time alone can’t heal. Michael knows that pain. He lived it. And that’s why he refuses to let another child feel what he did—to grow up believing addiction is stronger than love, stronger than faith, stronger than the hope of redemption.
His purpose isn’t just to help people get sober; it’s to restore families and break generational chains. To show those trapped in addiction that there is a way out—and that they are not beyond saving. Addiction is not a life sentence. It’s a battle that can be won with faith, purpose, and unwavering support.
He is a man of faith, a husband, and a father to two daughters who remind him daily why he fights. He knows the cost. And that’s why he’s made it his mission to ensure that anyone who reaches out for help will find a hand reaching back. Because for too long, addiction has been treated as a business, not a battle.
Michael believes that at the heart of it all, this isn’t about profit—it’s about people. That’s why Healing Rock Recovery was created: not as a business, but as a lifeline. A place where no one is too far gone, no one is beyond saving, and no one fights alone.

Valleri Crouch
Substance Use & Addiction Counselor
Some people choose their career. For Valleri, her calling chose her.
At just 9 years old, Valleri watched someone she loved struggle with addiction. She didn’t have the words for it then — only the feelings. The confusion, the worry, the helplessness that comes with loving someone caught in the grip of a disease that doesn’t discriminate. That little girl grew up, and instead of running from that pain, she ran toward it — determined to become the person she wished her family had.
Today, she works with individuals and families facing substance use, addiction, and chronic relapse. She gets it — not just clinically, but personally. And her clients feel that difference the moment they walk through her door.
Outside of the therapy room, Valleri is a horror movie enthusiast, a painter, and someone who treasures every moment spent with the people she loves most.
“Addiction is hard. Recovery is hard. Choose your hard.”
